Celebrate with me!!!

I’m totally PUMPED & God is doing spectacular stuff! I’m celebrating today because I’m part of a magnificent team with Saving Moses! Some of my team is in Brazil, exploring some cool opportunities for us there & some of my team is in Cambodia, introducing our nightcare work to some really fun peeps. The reason I’m celebrating today is because I’m in Denver with my family & not flying everywhere on the planet – a great reason to celebrate!!!!
Here are some things to think about in your life, possibly worth celebrating:

  • Teamwork: God puts us on fantastic teams – we never accomplish our divine mandate without teamwork!
  • Growing – in the past, I’d be all about my independence & doing Saving Moses alone; change is good for me & others 🙂
  • Capacity – when I’m obedient to God, my capacity to be effective grows

Let’s always celebrate God’s work in our lives!!

More than meets the eye

I would venture to say that all of us have more to us than what a quick intro would reveal.  I have friends who are petite, gentle and gracious but you’d never know that they love to mash an opponent on the boards in the hockey rink.  I have other friends who look like they are the most physically fit person you’d ever meet but they are slowly ebbing into oblivion because of their heart is filled with unforgiveness, pain, bitterness and revenge – tragic beyond words.

When I think about Jesus, I’m always discovering more than meets the eye.  With Jesus, consider that when He was hanging on the cross, He appeared to be a poster child for loser & failure, but there’s so much more than what meets the eye.  Consider that Jesus does these things in our lives:

  • touches our heart
  • guides our steps
  • stengthens our hands
  • invigorates the lifeless
  • illuminates our mind
  • stirs our soul
  • makes boldness out of timidity
  • quickens mortality
  • fuels the future
  • empowers what was hopeless

Consider that with Jesus, there is always more than what meets the eye 🙂

There are more things that we don’t see & hear than we realize. If you think about it, our eyes & ears are designed to absorb a select range of frequencies. With that being said, we have to understand that there are sights & sounds happening around us of which we are unaware.
So let’s be careful that we don’t put all of our faith only in what we see & hear.
1Cor 2:9 says that there are things that our eyes haven’t seen & our ears haven’t heard, nor has entered into our hearts all the things that God has prepared for those who love Him.
Don’t sink your faith in natural thinking 🙂

more and more

More and not less!!!!  As humans, we have this thinking that more is better than less.  We want more time, more money, more success, more achievements, more recognition, more help, more, more, more, more, . . . . . . .  I’m not sure that we ever have a really clear sense of “enough” and perhaps this is by divine design.  Perhaps we can never get enough because we are divinely designed for Infinte and thereby never genuinely satisfied with that which is finite and limited.  Think about your desires and how they may be shaped by God for God.  Perhaps your desire for more is only met in an authentic, ongoing and deep intimacy with your Creator, the Triune God 🙂

Less is More

Recently, I heard a song about wanting more of God in our lives. I was really enjoying the song when I felt the Holy Spirit interrupt my bliss & tell me that I couldn’t get more of God in my life until I freed up some capacity. I didn’t really understand what I was hearing until I began to think about the things that I have going on in my life – both essentials & non-essentials.
Most of us lead busy lives. We fill up our time, spend our energies, “invest” our money, give our attention & focus to lots of things (some important & some not important). We all know that we have limited amounts of time, energy, focus, money, etc. So the question that could be valuable for our consideration is related to how we spend the limited amounts of time, etc. If we want more of God, let’s consider how we can make space for Him in our lives. Maybe we could shuffle some of our sched to snag a few extra minutes to spend w God. Could you give Him a little more attention by putting some Bible verses in cards & posting them in your car or on the bathrm mirror, etc? Would you consider asking God to adjust your desires to more accurately reflect what pleases Him?
These are just some ideas that you might find helpful in creating more space for God in your life.

The destination to “more of God” is on the road called, “less of me”. Not many make the journey bc of the personal expense.
