some constructive daydreaming

The other day I was rumaging around in my imagination & playing some “what if” scenarios, when God threw out an interesting idea:  Sarah, what would your life look like if you were closer to Jesus?  Along this line, I’ve met alot of people who I consider to be really close to Jesus & I watch them carefully (or read about them as much as I can) to pick up some ideas, suggestions & behaviors.  So I took this question very personally from God to me.  I want to ask you to let yourself consider the same question:

What would your life look like if you were closer to Jesus?

Here are some of my answers: I share these with you, intending to provoke some of your thoughts & possibilities.  Please feel free to leave your ideas in the comments 🙂

If I were closer to Jesus, I would be less:  selfish, judgmental, worried, insecure, fearful, impatient,

If I were closer to Jesus, I would be more: forgiving, confident, loving, insightful, discerning, generous, selfless, concerned, peaceful, justice-minded, supernatural

So what do you think????  If you were closer to Jesus, what would your life look like?

WOW…….I was thinking along this line just the past few days and looking at the people I know are close to HIM. Confirmation to me that He is drawing me ever closer. Thank you for this post.

I’d be more loving!

If I were closer to Jesus, I would be less: impatient, selfish, anxious.

If I were closer to Jesus I would be more: prudent, wise, helpful, loving, forgiving, I had more faith.

It would be great if we could be closer to our Saviour for ourselves and others sakes. There are many barriers the enemy puts in our path to stop that happening but i’ve concentrated on three.Pride – when we think we don’t need His help because we’ve been suceeding in everything we do for Him and we get puffed up with pride forgetting God gave us our talents. We should always rely on his strength not our own because His strength is made perfect in weakness and Let him who boasts boast in the Lord. People -Fear of man brings a snare, so many times we try to be people pleasers, we’re scared of telling them of the Saviour for fear of offending them.yes we must love others but only Jesus died for us so we must please Him 1st not people . Sin – Our bodies our the temple of the Holy Spirit but we sometimes cling to certain sins and our hearts grow hardened .Our sins have hidden His face from you that He will not hear.Lets ask God to reveal our secret sins to us and then ask Him to cleanse us, for we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with that we should no longer be slaves to sin. Rom 6v6.May God help us grow closer to Jesus day by day so we can point others to the Saviour whether it be the unsaved person we work with or for Sarah with a worldwide tv witness

If I were closer I would spend more time flat on my face yearning to get even closer. I would know His heartbeat and cry His tears, I would walk His walk without questions and I would do what He did and only speak what my Father tells me to. If I were closer to Jesus everything that would take me 3wks to achieve, would now be done in the twinkling of an eye, because I would be confident and truly believe that I have the mind of Christ and that with Him nothing is impossible. I would not be a quitter no I would never give up because I would understand the urgency of His call to a lost and dying world. I would never have to fear man or feel guilty about not meeting everyone’s needs because I would fully know my mandate and I would not be distracted to do that which He is not requiring of me.
