This is part of the skyline for Phnom Penh & it has grown immensely over the last few years!I’m here because God put a vision in my heart to open nightcare centers in Cambodia. Nightcare is my work w Saving Moses where we look after the babies & toddlers of sex workers while they work.At our centers, each baby : toddler receives a warm welcome, bath, clean clothes, dinner, some basic education & a safe place to sleep through the night, all in the atmosphere of genuine love. Without nightcare they would be at severe risk to experience horrific trauma.
We’ve been working here for many years & I LOVE what we do, so much that I want MORE!!
Dream big with God. Let Holy Spirit show you vistas & impossibilities that quicken your pulse. Then take a step in that direction!Of course there are hardships & setbacks, but don’t let these hinder you before you even take a step!GO BIG!!!
“Here ya go!” As I was standing on the sidewalk on cold winter day, my friend flung me a seriously AWESOME winter cap that she had made me. I caught the cap with utter shock, checked it out & beamed from ear to ear. She had knit me this thoroughly magnificnet blue & white cap that has been my favorite for years. She later explained that she had to figure out a creative way to get the cap into my hands because of my difficulty to receive gifts.
Each of us have quirky hangups that can create obstacles for connecting in healthy ways with others. Maybe you have a sense of superiority over others & feel the need to help them improve – that’s an obstacle for connecting. Perhaps you see yourself as a victim from a past trauma or abuse, so it’s difficult for you to trust, another obstacle. I could endlessly list all kinds of obstacles we may have for connecting with others, but let’s be thankful that God has already overcome all of our obstacles and quirks because of genuine love. While there may be hindrances and obstacles along our horizontal journey, our vertical relationship with God is never in peril nor compromised – for the simple reason that God never stops loving us. His lovingkindness is everlasting!
When I was growing up, I thought obstacle courses were really cool & if the truth be known, I still think they’re cool. I like how they make you use different ways to overcome obstacles – whether it’s climbing a wall, crawling though a pipe, hoping into small platforms, etc, I like all of that stuff (and the TV shows that do the spoofs on obstacle courses are nothing less than hilarious, but I’ll save that for another day). But here’s something to consider: everyday we face various obstacles (big, little, emotional, relational, financial, wisdom, etc). We can perceive these things are obstacles & hardships or we can see them for what they really are: helpful exercises to enable us to be closer & more intimate a God. So let’s celebrate the various obstacle courses in our lives because we are letting them work into our hearts a deeper relationship & trust in God! 🙂
