Mice look for some place warm in the Fall & they sometimes find their way into our house, like this year. So my husband sent me off to Walmart to get the normal mouse removal accessories & they’ve been strategically placed around our kitchen for maximum impact 🙂
In this adventure, I’ve learned that one of my offspring, who will again remain nameless, has a mouse phobia . Imagine our fun to learn about this new opportunity to be playful or mischievous depending on how your frame it.
This child is quite jumpy with the whole mouse thing, even though there’s a clear size & intelligence advantage. In some respects, the devil is kind of like a mouse, looking to sneak his way into our thoughts & scare us at unexpected moments. Just because the devil can roar doesn’t mean he’s a lion – 1 Pet 5:8. Let’s be careful that we don’t let ourselves be intimated by the enemy of our soul. Reject the mice spice ,)
I’ve been home for 2 days from my Saving Moses trip to South Sudan & we have a mouse in the pantry – probably more than one. My husband and 2 sons spent the morning clearing everything out to see if they could figure out what the mouse has been eating & they found a few culprits: peanuts, dried coconut & probably a few other items. So they’ve resealed everything, put most of it in tupperware & have set out some traps so hopefully the mouse conundrum has been resolved because mice are a nuisance & can become dangerous.
Sometimes, I think that we let little things eat away at us on the inside – small fears, insecurities, negative memories, past failures, . . . . . While these things can be annoying, if we’re not careful, they can become deadly if we don’t do some soul cleaning from time to time, to get rid of the riff raff. So let’s take a few moments this day to do a quick inventory & see if there are some parasites & pests who have been gnawing on your soul & then do some prayer to give these things to Jesus & receive His peace and wholeness in exchange 🙂
We’ve taken a few days of vacation with Thanksgiving & it’s super great to have some fun family time 🙂
Last night I was putting my son to bed & the lights were out so I couldn’t see very well. As we finished praying, I went to straighten out the blanket & saw what I thought was a toy, with like a handle. When I went to pick it up, to move it off the bed, I flashed it through a small strip of light & it was a dead, dried up mouse!!! I of course jumped & semi-freaked out because I wasn’t expecting to find nor fish out a dried mouse from my son’s bed!! My son wanted to know what was wrong w me, but I’m waiting until we are done w our vacation to update him on his disappointed sleeping friend ,)
