Logic Defying Love

Here’s the honest truth: I’m a college basketball fanatic & in my opinion, the most wonderful time of the year is March Madness when 68 of the best college teams compete in a huge tournament that lasts almost three weeks. I’ve been watching March Madness tournaments for decades & my husband proposed to me during half time of a March Madness game.
Through a miraculous series of “coincidences”, I was able to go to the Final Four & championship game this weekend. And it was nothing less than THOROUGHLY EPIC!!!
What continues to astound me is the extravagant & logic defying love of God to me for getting to go to this event. March Madness has nothing to do with the Bible, nor helping babies whose moms are prostitutes or doing some kind of ministry. I thoroughly enjoy college basketball & getting to attend these games was entirely over the top – a massive expressions of genuine love to me that I didn’t earn, or deserve. And that’s how God loves us, full stop. We don’t deserve nor can we earn this love & yet God loves us with an extravagance & opulence that defies explanation. And all I can say is, “Thank You!”
God loves you w the same quality of extravagance & opulence, full stop 🙂

God’s Abundance

There are lots of occasions when I feel inadequate & when situations demand more than I have: more wisdom, solutions, answers, stamina, vision, etc. I say this as I wait to catch a 6:30a flight this morning to participate in an important meeting. As I look at this day, I see that it will require more of me than what I feel that I have. In & of myself, there’s not enough of me to meet the expectations of this day.

And that’s a good thing.
This is good because the abundance of these needs force me to rely on the Holy Spirit rather than depending on myself. Because I’ve been an independent person, such reliance isn’t always comfortable to me but I’m learning that God’s abundance is far superior to my deficiencies.
To experience God’s abundance, let’s decide to rely on the Holy Spirit rather than our individual resources.
