There are kinda of weight classes: losing weight, boxing, weight training, wrestling etc. So dealing with weight can be an interesting concept which is frequently a popular topic at the beginning of each year. Here are a few thoughts that could be helpful when you think about weight:
**Future Preparation: sometimes today’s weights are training for tomorrow’s responsibilities. What might seem heavy could actually be helpful for weightier matters in the future
**Losing Weight: anxieties, fears, failures, insecurities & other stuff can be weights we shed so we can be less weighed down
**Time Lever: sometimes waiting can be weighty but as we wait on the Lord, we can gain new strength! Consider Isaiah 40:31, “Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.”
Ever feel like sometimes life can be too heavy or even overwhelming? I find that I go through various seasons & experiences that can exceed my wisdom, strength & capacity – I think that perhaps this could be divine design. At the end of the story, we aren’t created to do life effectively without God being integrated into our lives.
So let’s be sure that we let Jesus carry our world because He absolutely has the whole world in His hands. So what are the burdens or weights in your life that you could put in Jesus’ hands? Let’s be very clear that nothing in your life is too heavy, complicated or overwhelming for Jesus!
In this new age of budget airplane travel, airlines are looking for all kinds of ways to squeeze out an extra nickel. Some airlines will serve their customers only water & require payment for anything different. I also flew an airline that charged me for some of my carry on luggage & it’s now customary to pay for one’s checked luggage on domestic flights. So I find myself carrying my luggage for almost all of my travels, to save money.
If I’m not careful, I also tend to carry my luggage with God, rather than checking my luggage, baggage & excess weight into God’s proficient care. I’m learning to check my baggage with God more consistently & not just when I’m overwhelmed 🙂
Ps 55:22 says to cast your cares on the Lord for He cares for you. Stop carrying your luggage through life 🙂
