Not LISTENING!!!

“I most certainly don’t want to hear THAT!” One of my kids said this to me a few days ago about a character flaw. We all have things that we don’t like or want to hear, but it doesn’t mean that we don’t need to hear these things.

Over the course of many years, I’ve had all kinds of feedback & input, some of which wasn’t kindly given & some of which was somewhere north of Jupiter, utter nonsense. However, I’m learning that negative feedback can often be more helpful than positive feedback, even when it’s given poorly or with unkind motives. We would be wise to remember that because our Heavenly Father loves us, He corrects & trains us not to be hurtful but rather to help us walk in the fullness of His design for us!
Remember Hebrews 12:5-6, “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by Him; 6 For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, and He scourges every son whom He receives.”

I’d like your input :)

Thanks massively for reading this blog! For those of you who subscribe, MUCHOS GRACIAS & if you don’t subscribe, consider taking the plunge because I aim to keep my words in these blogs few, but insightful, engaging, encouraging & constructive!

With that being said, I’m super interested to get your input on topics or ideas about which you’d like me to write:

  • What is interesting to you?
  • What do you have questions about?
  • What catches your heart most quickly?

Your help, input & advice is hugely helpful & greatly appreciated!

I’d love your opinion!!

So friends, I posted on Facebook this morning about gossip being bad & I think we’d all readily agree that it’s not healthy.

Here’s what I’d like to know from your opinion:
What are some suggestions you’d offer to help me with a person who is gossiping & I want it to stop. Ready, go!!!

hot topic: I want your opinion :)

Greetings & happy mid-week to you!  I’m working on a message about family & really want your input.  Please answer this question (I’m not “grading” any answers & I’m not looking to judge or critique your feedback – I just want your wisdom,  thoughts & insights):

???What is a functional family???

Thank you!!!!

Feedback please!

First, let me say thanks so much for reading my blog! I know you could chose lots of things to do, so thank you lots for reading this! I’m considering doing possible a weekly series on like hot topics, but still keeping it short.
I have 2 questions for you:
1 – do you like the idea of a weekly series (1 day a week)?
2 – what topics would be interesting to you?

Thanks HEAPS for your feedback!

please give me your input

Greetings & happy Wed to you!

I’m doing some work in 2 Bible verses on which I’d like to get your feedback.  Here are the verses where Jesus says:

John 16:23-24, “In that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. 24″Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.”

So here are some questions that I have & I’d be keen to hear your thoughts or feedback:

  • have you ever asked God for something & didn’t like the outcome of your request?
  • what do you think Jesus means when He says, “ask & you will receive so that your joy may be full.”?
  • what do you do with any disappointment you may experience from various requests to God that may not get answered in the way you wanted?

I know that I usually try to write encouraging things in my blog, but if you’d be inclined, I’d be super interested to hear your thoughts on these questions 🙂

Thanks muchos!!

I’d like your feedback

Greetings!  I’ve been thinking about writing this blog for quite awhile now & it seems to be the right time now to solicit your wisdom & input.  I’m keen to know if and what topics you’d interested for me to write about.  I’ve tried to keep a broad range, but it would be super helpful to me to know what is interesting & helpful to you.  So please, please, please and one more PLEASE leave your feedback for topics in which you’d be interested – thanks ahead of your time your wisdom & help!!! 😀

your feedback please

Greetings!  I made a concerted effort in 2011 to blog more consistently & I’ve found this I like this format quite a bit.  If you’ve noticed, I try to do a couple of things:  stay brief, relevant & insightful.  At the same time, I’m not very interested in jumping into uber controversial subjects (politics, etc).  Sometimes I’ve done this better than at other times.  So what I’d like from you are suggestions:

  • are there topics you’d like me to write about?
  • do you have suggestions of things you’d like me to do or not do?
  • general thoughts?

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated and thanks MUCHOS for reading!!  I want to get better this year & I appreciate your help 🙂

THANKS so much!!!

smile_orangutanI can’t tell you how much I appreciate all of the fasting feedback!!  I’m using lots of the insights personally in fasting, so thank you LOADS for helping me grow in God by sharing your thoughts & experiences!  If you haven’t left a comment yet, please do – even if you don’t think you have much to say (something is better than nothing).

Also, do you have any books or additional websites you’d recommend for fasting?  Please leave any ideas you have in a comment, as I’m trying to be pretty thorough.

Again, thanks so much for your help & keep it coming! 🙂

Philip. feedback on “homework” and “s.e.” for next week

Seems like the word “homework” still has that negative feeling to it that we all thought of from school.  So, let’s adjust our terminology to make all feathers lay flat & to smooth out all the bunched up undies.  Rather than “homework”, we’ll use the term “suggested exercises”.  Okee dokee?

Here’s what peeps have passed along so far:

Favs:

2:12Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

2:13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
4:4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!

4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Themes:

Rejoicing in the Lord, and encouragements to be mindful of Christ.

Suffering with Christ

Finishing / Completion

Servanthood

Be Thankful & Pray

Remain in Unity concerning the Gospel

3. HARD TO DIGEST VERSES

Philippians 3:3-6 (New King James Version)

please note that this isn’t all of the feedback – just a few responses.  Thanks SO much for participating!  🙂

Here are some suggested exercises to prep for next week’s Philippians lesson:

1. Re-read chapter 2
2. What 2-3 verses stand out most to you in chap. 2 and why?
3. What does 2:5-11 mean to you?

4. What do you think Paul means when he says to workout your salvation with fear and trembling in verse 12?
