in honor of valentines day

I’m not really the romancy type of person so flowers, roses, chocolates, etc get lost on me w valentines day.  So here’s something to consider, especially if you’re married.  Alot of times we want to work on our marriage based on learning how the opposite thinks, or processes information or learning the different ways we deal w stress etc.

I’d like to make a suggestion.  While I think that its very important & valid to do our best to understand our mates, to give them love in the way most easily understood by them, with honor & love, etc.  I would like to suggest that you consider praying w your mate once a day & not just over a meal.  You can connect w your mate mentally, on some emotional level, physically, etc.   But nurturing a spiritual connection w your spouse, i believe, is a vital component to fostering a healthy marriage.

With that being said, here are a few verses Reece & i try to pray together daily:

Jer 32:39,  “I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me for their own good and the good of their children after them.  NIV

Ps 43:3,  “Send forth your light and your truth, let them guide me; let them bring me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you dwell.  NIV

Col 1:9,  “. . . asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.  NIV

Isa 54:13,  “All your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be your children’s peace.  NIV

Happy Valentines Day!
