Do The Work :)

Welcome to Monday, the start of a work week for some of us, or the start of a school week for those who are students.  Wherever you find yourself on this day, there are things in front of you and me that we need to do.  Maybe you need to work on a school assignment, write a paper or study for a test.  Maybe you need to write some emails, craft a proposal, flip a hamburger, wash a toilet, load the dishwasher, drive to a soccer practice, grade some papers, manage a project, crunch some numbers, etc.  No matter what, all of us have stuff we need to do today – do the work.

And this is part of God’s design for each of us.  You and I are uniquely designed to participate in and accomplish things.  How we do such work is the real issue, even more than what we do.  So here are some helpful ideas about how we do our work:

  • work as unto the Lord and not to man – Colossians 3:23
  • keep a grateful heart – 1Thessalonians 5:18
  • stayed focused and eliminate distractions – Proverbs 4:25
  • maintain genuine love – 1Corinthians 16:14

Talk about work! We made it through the :one thing” we got out and about to do today which was fill out paper work for medications through Lillycare and some other drug company, Lord bless them! (Atleast it wasn’t the one with the golden cow symbol, that one always disturbs me.) Met tells me to just leave it to our faithful and highly competent drug dealer at the Gallaway healing house. His name is Drew. I’m pretty sure he is a believer in Jesus. He always takes care of us with the appropriate frown, sympathy and sighs interjected just at the right time to make us feel loved. Yes, this guy does all four of the things you suggest in excellent form. I’m talking straight from the heart. There’s not a drop of sarcasm. I’m sure it’s a stressful job, doing what he does, especially so well, please pray for God to give him the strength to keep doing it. He helps us hold on to that little cord of faith in the Methodists Healing system. Lord bless them one and all.

Amen!!! Thanks for this Pastor Sarah.
